SunWorks, Jersey’s solar energy provider, has announced a new bursary scheme to support Jersey students who may be considering a career in renewable energy.

Formed in 2013 SunWorks has now completed some 250+ solar and battery storage projects in Jersey.  These range from a small off-grid system for the Crabbe Scout Hut, through house roofs of all sizes, up to installing 1500 solar panels on the roof of Jersey Dairy.  Every new day brings a different project that will contribute to Jersey’s production of its own homegrown electricity.  SunWorks offers an end-to-end service encompassing initial survey, design, project management, all electrical/internet connections and maintenance.  New processes and products are facts of life in our world of solar and battery technology.

Mark Brandon Co-Founder an MD at SunWorks states, “We are growing fast and expect to continue to be at the centre of major changes to the energy environment.  We need young people who are adaptable and environmentally aware to help us through these changes. Candidates will be interested in renewable energy, construction, engineering, project management, electrical work or computer aided design.  We are therefore offering a £1,500 per annum bursary to a Jersey student looking to undertake an appropriate degree level qualification.  We will also offer paid work experience opportunities with the chance to be involved in seeing some solar projects through from start to finish. “

SunWorks expect to be interviewing prospective candidates in December 2021 and would now like to receive applications from interested parties.  Please enclose a current cv and tell us why you are the person that we seek.  Applications should be sent by e-mail to info@sunworks.je no later than 10th December 2021.
