Jersey has just had the 2nd sunniest spring on record (JEP 3rd June). In support of that, here in St. Ouen our SolarEdge solar monitoring app showed that in the months of May and April 2021 our roof generated more electricity than June, July or August last year.
This information demonstrates solar PV is not just a summer power source and that the cold winds that kept temperatures down do not negatively affect solar electricity generation. Despite these monthly changes solar is incredibly consistent over the full year with energy generation being almost identical year on year in terms of total energy generated. This makes solar a reliable investment when coupled against a home or business with predictable daytime energy use.
