The Brief
The client came to SunWorks when they were having building works carried out on the listed outhouse and were worried their electricity bills were only increasing year-by-year. SunWorks liaised with the architect who applied for planning permission. After planning permission was granted, we worked with the client to understand their annual consumption, and how to maximise both roof spaces of the listed building and the pool house.
Solution
SunWorks maxed out the roof spaces using a specific mounting kit for slate roof and installed 14 x REC solar panels on the listed building and 15 x REC solar panels on the pool house, all black suited for the sleek look. We strung these two different aspects together and installed a 3-phase 10kw inverter in the pool house.
Since the installation, the client switched to Economy 7 heating and use solar energy to run everything else in the house, including their EV car, two EV bikes and the heated pool through summer.
Just over a year later, the client couldn’t be any more happier! They have learnt how to use electricity efficiently, using household appliances when solar is producing and expect a return on investment in less than 10 years!
