The 2026 SunWorks Solar Giveaway, proudly sponsored by Benest Estates, gives a Jersey charity or community organisation the chance to win a solar installation worth up to £30,000.
We received some fantastic applications from organisations doing incredible work across our Island. After carefully reviewing the entries and assessing the suitability of each site, we’ve now selected our shortlisted organisations to go through to the public vote.

Voting is open now and closes at the end of August 2026. The winning organisation will be announced shortly afterwards, with installation of the solar system scheduled for September.

Les Amis
Winning the Solar Giveaway would make a significant difference in reducing our energy costs, allowing us to reinvest those savings into our core mission of providing quality care and support for adult islanders with learning disabilities. The money saved could also help cover essential expenses, such as updating medical equipment, maintaining our transport service, and subsidising social activities for the people we support.
At Les Amis, we are committed to sustainability. Our Waste Cooking Oil Recycling project is just one example of how we help reduce waste and support environmental initiatives. The installation of solar panels at one of our larger properties would be a valuable next step in furthering our commitment to a greener, more sustainable future.
Jersey RFC
Winning the SunWorks Solar Giveaway sponsored by Benest Estates would make a huge difference to Jersey Rugby Football Club and the wider community that uses our facilities every week. Reducing our energy costs would allow us to invest more into developing players of all ages, supporting grassroots rugby, and improving the experience for members, volunteers and visitors. It would also help us take a positive step towards becoming a more sustainable club, ensuring we can continue to provide opportunities for sport, wellbeing and community connection for years to come. Every vote would help us strengthen both our club and our commitment to a greener future for Jersey.

Maison des Landes
Maison des Landes Hotel and Community Hub in St Ouen is a charitable trust which has been supporting people with disabilities for over 60 years, offering accessible stays, dining, events and activities for islanders and visitors. Our welcoming team and modern facilities together create a relaxed atmosphere where everyone can feel safe, confident and included. Today, we are proud to provide respite breaks for young Jersey adults with learning disabilities, in addition to hydrotherapy sessions, meals and activities for a variety of local charities and community groups.
Running a fully accessible hotel and community hub involves significant energy costs, particularly with facilities such as our hydrotherapy pool, which is used by around 400 swimmers every month. Winning Sunworks’ Solar Giveaway would lower these costs, reduce our environmental impact, and make our services more sustainable for the future.

Sanctuary Trust
Winning the Solar Giveaway would make a significant difference to Sanctuary Trust and the people we support. As a local charity providing accommodation and support to men experiencing or at risk of homelessness in Jersey, rising energy costs have an impact on the resources available for our frontline services.
Installing solar panels at Sanctuary Lodge would help us reduce our environmental impact and improve the sustainability of our accommodation through the generation of clean, renewable energy. At the same time, reducing our electricity costs would enable Sanctuary Trust to direct more resources towards supporting residents on their journey towards stability, independence and a brighter future. It would be a long-term investment in both our environmental goals and our ability to provide high-quality person-centred support.
