Tell us about your story and the impact you have made on the Jersey community:

JSRC offer squash programmes, squash based fitness classes, and wellness activities, encouraging an active lifestyle for physical and mental well-being for all ages. Our Junior Academy nurtures young players, some of which compete at regional and national levels, focusing on skill development and life skills. We make squash accessible by offering affordable memberships, providing equipment for beginners, and organising free introductory sessions.
At the club we fostering community engagement as a social hub where people build lasting relationships. We host events, international tournaments, and outreach programs, fostering belonging and camaraderie and bringing over 400 people per year onto the island where the visit the bars, restaurants, shops and hotels.
We support the Jersey community through our schools programme, which the solar panels would help fund as well as sport related volunteer efforts, benefiting local causes and initiatives.
Committed to sustainability, we are transitioning to solar energy to reduce our environmental impact and inspire eco-friendly practices.

Our squash club is very keen to become more sustainable in general. Transitioning to solar energy will reduce our carbon footprint and align with our values of promoting health, wellness, and a sustainable future. Solar panels will save on energy costs, allowing us to enhance our facilities and offer a free schools program. This will make squash more accessible and increase community participation. We plan to integrate educational programs on solar energy into our activities. This will raise awareness and inspire other local organisations to adopt renewable energy solutions.
By adopting solar energy, we can lead by example and encourage other sports clubs and community organizations to follow suit, creating a broader impact. Quite simply, solar panels will cut our greenhouse gas emissions, helping to minimize our carbon footprint. Generating our own electricity will reduce reliance on non-renewable sources, save energy costs, and support Jersey’s carbon reduction goals. We will incorporate the solar system into our schools program, offering tours and sessions to promote renewable energy awareness. Savings from solar energy will fund other sustainability initiatives, like efficient lighting and heating/cooling systems. Solar energy will help us meet environmental regulations, making us a leader in eco-responsibility in the sports community.
